The Church of the Holy Comforter, Richmond Virginia, in the Episcopal Diocese of Virginia. The title of this blog comes from the book of the same name by Dietrich Bonhoeffer. In Life Together, Bonhoeffer describes Christian community as a gift from God. Our church is a gift from God for those who take part in the life of our faith community and a gift to those we serve in Christ's name. Monday in Holy Week - Silent/Centering Prayer Eucharist
Join us at 12:15pm today for a Silent/Centering Prayer Eucharist, there will be 30 minutes of silence during this 45 minute service.
The prayer for this day:
Almighty God, whose most dear Son went not up to joy but first he suffered pain, and entered not into glory before he was crucified: Mercifully grant that we, walking in the way of the cross, may find it none other than the way of life and peace; through Jesus Christ your Son our Lord, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever. Amen.
